locked front and rear
I'm locked front and rear, autolocks on a DD. If I could I'd have gotten ARB's. Yes the rear will break free if I drive by throttle on snow and ice. Yes I'm slow but I don't have any problems, but I'm attentive and drive according to conditions. The real issue for driving on slick stuff is stopping not starting. This explains why idiots make me nervous.
Being locked or spooled will increase your turning radius even if just the rear is locked, they pop and rachet. If you are automatic I'd diffentantly go with selectibles. I'm also geared, axles and t-case, I don't wheel with thottle either. I love my lockers and doubt I'll ever own a rig without them. They have quarks but they worth every bit of it, IMHO.

thanks axleike and tc. nvr seen a elocker in person, so i wasnt to sure about them.
i might as well just go arb f/r. looks like my buddy has a leak in one of his lines, his compressor always goes off when we go wheelin.
o and axleike, would you use your arb compressor to pump your tires up, or is it to small?

Absolutely not.
I would never use an ARB compressor period, but trying to fill tires with mine would fry it in a heart beat.
TC has the new one, that is supposed to be able to handle tires.
I will never use an airpump to air my tires unless i am desperate. I only use CO2

I am running Lockrights front and rear and have had good success so far. I haven't had the opportunity to drive my truck at high speeds on icy roads (3.slow and a square front driveshaft) so maybe that is why it hasn't been a problem so far. As far as turning on the trail and in the rocks my front end is able to turn because of the Lockright's unlocking capability? I am happy so far as I am running the Lockrights front and rear, with stock birfs, and 37's and no breakage as of yet.
