94 Tacoma 4X4 Drive Shaft,,,Help!!
I was hoping someone here could help out a new guy? If I have posted this in the wrong thread I apologize.
My nephew is working on a 1994 Toyota Tacoma 4X4 Pickup, 4cyl, 5spd which will be his first vehicle on his 17th birthday. All was coming along well when he realized the rear drive shaft was missing from his parts inventory. He has no idea what happened to it, may have been accidentally scraped, but it needs to be replaced. Would anyone have a suggestion on where he could find a replacement. The junk yards in the area don't have anything and the dealer gave a price in the $600.00 range which would kill the budget. Grass cutting money doesn't go very far. Are there any online dealers in rebuilt drive shafts?
Thanks.........

First - the truck is not a Tacoma - it's a "compact truck" or "pickup". First year for the Tacoma was 95.5 (this may be the problem with not finding it at the junkyard).
Other than yotayard, you could probably have a driveshaft made up for less than what the dealer is charging. If you DO end up having to get one from a dealer, www.trdparts4u.com (Toyota of Dallas) will have the cheapest prices.

Check on ebay. There's a shop that sells new driveshafts for about 150.00
I almost bought one recently. Just search "toyota pickup driveshaft" and it will pull it up either in the auctions or the ebay stores.
