93 4Runner stalling out

If anyone can help me!!!!!

I live in Calgary and my truck stalled out yesterday, luckily in front of my house. I thought it sounded like it was dying cause I was running out of gas but then I got gas and it still sounded terrible. I tried to turn it over after a lil while to hear what it sounded like but it had an even harder time starting after that.

Any ideas? It's been leaking something over the past week as well.

thanks for any help!!!!!

What is it leaking?

What have you tried to fix it? Does it start at all?

id start with vacum lines! make sure all are plugged in and not leaking ! easy way to tell if you have a vaccum leak is to spray starting fuild on the lines if one leaks the engine will surge. toyotas are big on vacuum lines and will run like poop without them right ! start there and let us know what you find

What engine and transmission?

Well, I'm usually the guy to suggest starting with the easy stuff ... but this sounds bad - like blown head gasket or spun bearing bad.

Check the coolant and oil. The coolant should look clean and clear, nice green (could be other colors depending on the type of coolant). The oil should look, like, well, oil. If either is foamy, cloudy, or looks like a milkshake, that's probably headgasket bad.

How much oil has it been leaking? Did the level get really low? Have you been 4wheeling it and damaged the oil pan? That would lead me to bearing bad.

I hope it's not either of those, because they are expensive and time consuming to fix ...

That sounds bad.....I would think the damage has been done already....

Your best bet is to get that to a mechanic ASAP. I wouldnt recommend trying to drive it

i emailed the toyota dealership around the corner from my house and also found a mechanic who might buy it off me. i'm going to guatemala for 7 months in a month so i really can't afford to drop any money on it. i don't wanna sell it but it's not even starting now.
