90 Pickup: Emissions/Tubes OK to Remove?
Ok,
So the whole time ive been working on my p/u ive noticed extra stuff that wasnt on my last toyota. On top of the head (standing in front of the truck) in front of the PCV valve i have a bracket with a million different things on there. Im currently searching for a pic to show yall exactly what im talking about.
If someone knows what im talking about and has a pic, post it up for me. Im trying to find out what it is and if i can get rid of it///rip it out.
Thanks in advance.

per the rules this thread could have been deleted because of your original title.
instead of asking someone to post a pic, post a pic of what items you are talking about, so we don't have to read your mind--> try photobucket.com it's free
if there is a tube, emissions equipment etc-->Toyota generally put it there for an intended purpose.

They are called Vacuum Switching Valves (VSVs). Remove them if you want, but your truck may or may not run correctly afterwards
The rear most (green or blue) is part of the fuel pressure regulator. (FPR)
The red/orange one on the right side of the engine (in the pic) is part of the vacuum system of the Secondary Air Injection (emissions stuff). Theres no gain from removing it. Leave it be. THE SAI (also called PAIR- Pulsed Air Injection Reed valve) "injects" clean air from the airbox (the smaller tube running along the intake) to the exhaust to help the cat while warming up so the emissions aren't as "rich".
I had the front most one on my '88 4runner but I forget what it goes to....

well, its just i strictly remember not having them on my last toyota becuase i detailed the whole engine bay,
and i just really didnt want any emissions stuff on my truck that could be holding the motor down.
but since it wont make a huge difference if any, i reckon it can stay
