89 4runner 22re clutch issue

Depends on where you are I guess, normally I would say a bit high, but I don't know the normal cost for a rear main seal , either, or the install cost.
Clutch master/ slave cyls , plus install should be about 100 to 120 bucks, cost plus labor- make damn sure on all theparts above, you are getting OEM PARTS, or Jap or if not them German made parts. master clutch should cost about 50 bucks, and the slave shouldn't be more than 25, even for a bran new OEM japanese made or german one. ASk, don't be afraid to ask where they are coming from , who makes them. If you get OEM's or other jap made or german stuff, they are the parts that are gonna last another 200k miles.
If you get Chinese made stuff--- well.... personally I wouldn't accept them, and tell them so.

Wow! Is that at Eddy's? That's crazy! Was that labor for the same parts listed above?
Matt4Running, do you have any experience with shops around Wichita for doing an alignment? I was thinking either Bosley's Tires or Eddy's, they both quoted me the same price, and the dealership is closer to me. Even though they were trying to rip you off, I will probably take it there unless I hear otherwise.
You going to Colorado? Where at and when? I would like being in the mountains right now. Sounds like fun.

Yes yayfortrees that quote was from eddys.Cant help you on the alignment advice, but I did buy some awesome Falken tires from Bosley : ) Im going back to Colorado to look for work before my unemployment benefits run out.Eddys charges 90$ an hour labor.Oh yeah and that quote was for installation of parts above. However, when the twit that called me with labor cost of 1800$ I stopped her from talking anymore, told her forget it.

Okay, got mine back, re-RE- built(3rd time) AND no cost!!! very good shop, didn't even charge for the tow. I asked my regular auto shop dude , why the clutch kit failed twice, and he said, somewhere in there, you just got a defective part, or it needed more adjustments to the fork, linkage, etc. Anyway, I got the clutch pad back, the round part with the 4 thick springs around the center- completely ate up , and rubbed out on both sides. Looked totally nasty.
Also now when I go to shift, I can feel the ' catch back' or the ' drop off' of the
clutch, when i have the pedal about 1/2 way down, or up, depending on your shifting, which is much better than it was. Before, i had the pedal almost all the way out, about 1 inch from the top, before the pedal would catch or loose the clutch.

got the clutch fixed, it was either a defective pressure plate or they gave me the wrong one in the kit, the parts place exchanged me for a new kit, got it in and its much better, the fingers on the pressure plate werent sticking out as far on the old one as the new. so just wanted to give a update.
