87 p/u paint project - urethane or enamel?

im almost ready to paint my 87 pickup but have a few questions first. which single stage paint should i use: acrylic enamel or acrylic urethane? my question is in which one will be easier to apply and will there be any problems being applied over the factory paint? from research i know some paints don't go well over existing paints. any one know what the existing paint is? i have yet to find that information. i am only sanding down the factory paint, im not spraying primer. anyone have first hand experience with a urethane or enamel? the urethane is a better paint then the enamel it sounds like but it does cost a little more. i am trying to find a good balance of quality, cost and time spent with this project. thanks for any help!

Urethane can be dangerous to work with and requires breathing equipment to handle safely.

Urethane is the tougher paint. But it's very toxic. It's also a bit tougher to work with.

thanks for the info! i recall reading something about that but didn't realize it was that much worse. tougher would be good, but not worth it in my situation. cheaper, safer and easier to work with is more then enough reasons to go with the enamel. anyone have experience with the restoration shop brand from tcp global online? i can get 1 gal paint and the reducer and hardener for $130 plus shipping. i will get a quote from a local paint store but i doubt i will find it cheaper and im not after the highest quality.

The Duplicolor Paint Shop series isn't supposed to be too bad, especially for the price.
