86 ignition wont lock.

been noticing lately my ignition is getting harder and harder to lock, i just got home and sat outside for 10 min trying to lock my ignition, turning the key back and forth, back and forth till it finally went to lock, i hate it because when my doors are off at work and at the house, ll someone has to do is stick knife in there and fire it up and leave, so far i've pulled the cover off the steering column and blew compressed air everywhere, in the cylinder itself, don't want to spray wd-40 in there or silicone and damage it even more, any ideas other then getting a new ignition?

its an 86 22re sr5
