3VZE Vacuum lines

Can someone tell me how much of a difference having a few vacuum lines on the passenger side of the engine off will make. Mine keep splitting at the ends & a couple are too short to stay on their respective tubes. How much of a hassle is it to replace all those boogers? Thanks guys!

It depends on which ones come loose. You will at least have a vacuum leak that will most likely affect the idle quality.

Get yourself a couple yards of hose at your local parts store and get in there and replace them one by one.

Vacumn Lines

Well depending on what they are they will definately adversely affect any vacumn switching on your vehicle not to mention your Idle quality and most likely performance.
If you do not want them them you need to identify them (what thier function is) and then if they are something that is able to be eliminated (ie:Egr) then remove them and plug the lines.
Depending on what they are they could also generate CEL Codes.
My opinion :
If I were to have splitting lines I would replace them asap for the sake of the motor and most likely a lean burn condition at some range of operation.
And if I were to replace them I would probably replace them with the OEM vacumn tubing because from what I have seen the OEM Tubing is of a much better quality than the average parts store (pay more but last much much longer) , I still have the original lines on my '91 and they are still in great shape thus far.
I am sure there are some aftermarket vacumn lines (performance variety) that are either neoprene or a percentage of it and have a much longer life retaining thier elastisity/life much longer than the generic cheapo industry stardard rubber sold at the local parts store .

Fred , you should go into the CP(control panel) and post your truck year , make and model so when you post people responding may be able to know what you have so they could maybe post some links (in this case vacumn routing so you can identify them) you could use to help you .

Vacumn Lines

Here is a link to the online FSM for the 3VZE :
http://personal.utulsa.edu/~nathan-b...sm/engine.html
When you open link just scroll down to the 3VZE listing (it covers the 22RE 4 banger first) and look under "Emission Control System" , click on the different links and it will give you a idea of what your dealing with and if you may be able to permanently dis-able/remove and then plug the lines for some of the vacumn controls (mainly just EGR is removable).
Hope this helps a bit .
