3vze noise
I've always kinda wondered if the engine themselves are just loud or is it just mine. Its sounds like one of those big industrial fans under the hood lol.If Im going down a narrow street where the buildings are close to the road I can hear my engine noise bouncing back at me.
Is this normal for our engine to be kinda loud?

Just ran the truck until noraml running temp and still the fan can be free spun.Idk if my fan is normal tho I have never seen a fan like it before. It has a bunnch of blades but all the blades are connected together with a ring. The fan is plastic too.

Well, with a worn fan clutch your fan shouldnt kick in. But it sounds like yours is constantly on...
in anycase replacing it is pretty easy. I did mine a few months ago. I tried to do it without removing the rad, but ended up removing it anyways.
remove rad, shroud and fan, then just unbolt the clutch and pull it off. Took me bout an hour or so.

Did you replace it or service your old one?Either way it doesnt matter lol I just wanna know what will it do if it is bad?My engine runs at a perfect temp and other than low idle and loudness its flawless.
Like what damage can it cause if its always on.

may i recomend to actually compare it to another similar truck...
mine warms up quite loudly, but then simmers down to a sewing maching like noise,
(fresh rebuild last November)
new(er) fan, streamlined, not the big ring around it, and it still makes a lot of noise
but
my point is...your hearing may be more acute than ours, or compared to what your used to. so, its all relative.
also, i know our trucks don't have much insulation for noise, but there is that option to add it. (like BMWs have), that really works, and weighs just a few ounces. (but i like eng noise, and can sometimes miss the feeling of the purrs and roars of my machines)

So my fan will spin freely no matter if its cold, been running for a couple of minutes or been driving 50 miles, but it sounds the way that you guys describe with it being engaged while the engine is warming up, but it gets much quieter after its warm or I drive off. How can I tell for sure if this clutch is bad so that I don't have to buy a new one if I don't have to. Also is this a part that ya'll recommend using only the aisin part or is aftermarket ok on this? ( $80-100 price difference)
