22RE rattle sound

Hi
Whenever i reach 2000-2100 rpm there is a rattling sound coming from the left side of the engine (driver side). As soon as i go under or over this exact rpm range the rattle disappear completly ... idling or driving it doesnt matter.
The sound seem to be stronger when the engine is cold, and at first the noise was only present when starting cold then disappear when hot. Now its always present no matter what, but like i said only in the 2000-2100 rpm range.

Something i found was that when i listen with a "stetoscope" (long screw driver to my ear) the sound in question seems to be verry present right in this pipe (see picture) near the manifold. What is this part for ??? Any idea ?? Anyone???
THANX for any reply

I do belive that is the air injection tube. My truck doesnt have one but that is what I think it is.

Your rattle is probably a loose heat shield somewhere.

x2 on a loose heat shield or similar. You are probably hitting resonance for those parts that are rattling when you are in the 2000 to 2100 range.
