1st Gen 4runner Parts???

What parts on the 4runner are made from unobtanium and just not found at the yota dealer? I am guessing you can still get interior parts and such, but what isnt being made anymore? Not a real question, just curious.

Parts

I don't know about the dealer, but I have never not been able to find new parts for anything on my truck.

Chevota

Toyota does get a kick out of it. Especially cause I work for the owner of our local dealership. But really, I just get my parts from our local Napa shop and he gets me the Toy discount as well as the chevy discount. I have been going to this same guy for ten or so years and he's used to my hybrid projects.

Almost anything is available - for a PRICE....

GOOD parts guys know how to cross referendce the part number to somethign thats less expensive.

For example - the over door grab handles are the same as ina Supra but are like 1/4 the cost...

I was told the strikers for the rear seatbacks were discontinued last time I went to the stealership.

For the most part its interior, body, exhaust pipes (not the manifold, they're still available) and wire harnesses (like fuel injection harnesses) are the ones that are getting very hard to find, if possible at all. Engine and differential parts are widely available due their uses on many different years and makes. Gears are becoming very hard to find for 80's 5 speed transmissions. I have heard they have to be special ordered through Japan. It won't be long before that stock is depleted though.

3+years ago I tried to get all of the rear interior panels and hard top garnish.
Nope. Not available from the dealer. That is when I knew my truck was old and trail damage was OK.

Panels

I got the panels re-upholstered but, never put them on cause of all the extra storage.
