I had l a post earlier about finding a milkshake oil situation after an overheat. But I had just replaced the head gasket. I had a cheap universal radiator cap with a red lever that lifted to relieve steam. But it wouldnt draw up or let out any coolant. So that means the coolant system was over pressurized. One day several hundred miles after the rebuild it over heats and I find my oil looks like chocolate milk. I drained it all then ran 5 quarts of 10w- 30 and a whole can of seafoam through it for 10 mins. Drained it then did it again. Finally I put in th 20'w (
50) with Lucas oil and a 140w-85. Gearoil Quart through. Now it's been flushed out and has a very thick oil. But it's clean. I got the factory radiator cap.
I have heard that you can get away without any major damage if you act fast. My suspect leak is the intake manifold gasket. Not the heads.what do you think? It had a water oil emulsification. I got to it instantly and double flushed it. It runs fine now. I will find the leak. What I'm worried about is the main and rod bearings. Can they survive this close encounter. Did my fast acting and double flushing help. Anyone know the odds?

With it being the 3.0 and you finding milky oil, i'm guessing it's something to do with the headgasket. Maybe running all that oil and seafoam through the engine somehow slowed the leak. If you really think it's the intake manifold gasket, then pop it off and check the gasket it doesn't take very long to do so.

You're bsically asking the impossible, I've done somethng bad am I okay?

Without tearing down the motor and inspecting everything it's hard to give you an idea of what condition your bearing surfaces are in. And if you did a tear down and found damage could you determine that it was new damage as a result of the milkshake and overheat or was it previous damage fromthe HG going te first time around? No.

You did the best you can do without tearing the motor apart. Run it cautiously with an eye of a hawk to make sure you don't have any more oil/water infiltration.
