1993 4runner 3.0 head gasket

So, ole blue (1993 4runner 4WD I bough new - 1st vehicle out of college) is have some engine issues. Dealer replaced head gasket in 1998 under recall. I tore her down and what do you know - head gasket is a mess. Cylinder have no wear and she was running fine, so I'm going to rebuild her. Going to get the heads worked at local machine shop and Leaning toward a complete rebuild kit from engnbldr.

Head bolts were very tight (what is the recomended torque anyway?) and after inspecting the HG, it almost looks like it was overtightened! the HG around #6 cylinder is completly blown out, but the ring around #1 is kinked as well. Pictures below. Is this the "usual" HG issue?? Should I look for anything else??

While you're at it, do something about the way the exhaust exit the single hole. Most folks would say that's the reason why #6 gasket always fail.

Here's a pic of the 3.4 exhaust exit. It's much better.
