Question 1991 4Runner body swap or engine/tranny swap?

This is my first post guys so bear with me. I have a 1991 4runner 4x4 5spd 3.0 and I got into an accident a while back where I got hit in the drivers door/front fender and I have been trying to fix my baby myself, especially since I just rebuilt the engine top to bottom. Heres the deal, I found a 1994 4Runner 3.0 4x4 except its got an auto tranny and a blown engine. Im trying to figure out what is more feasible, my engine/tranny dropped in the other truck or putting its body on my frame. What do you guys think? I know my driveline is solid and I dont want to part with my tranny and I know that the other trucks body is solid. So, any suggestions?

Seems like you could remove the fender/ door from the donor rig and be on your way. Could probably even sell the donor (with or without fender) and make some of your money back... or even consider parting out the auto 4Runner.

A engine tranny swap would be pretty involved. You'd have to take on the wiring because a auto ECU will not work with a 5spd. You'd have to wire up your new rig to accept a 5spd ECU. You've got the pedals and required bracketry to figure out as well, but that would be the easy part considering the whole project.

I have never done a body swap, but it seems like that would be a very involved task. Just lifting that 2nd Gen body off the frame would be a challenge. But maybe you have access to a lift and many tools.

I think I am just going to use the truck for parts....its to rusty to use but I can harvest tons of stuff off of it...including the front end swap I have been wanting to do.
