90!4Runner

Out of your guy's opinions, which one is better in all areas?
-Offroad
-Street
-Speed
-Gas Mileage
-Towing
-Looks

The 4Runner in question is the one pictured on my avatar, and the T100 all I know about it is that it's a 93, 4x4, 5spd, 170,000, rebuilt eng(when i do not know). I pretty much just want to know what you think if they had the same mileage, basically everything the same. Any info on prob's on T100's would be helpful.

the t100 still had a 3.0 and the 4runner is a 3.0 also i would like the t100 better for hauling stuff i seen one to day on 35s it looked sweet

If the t100 isnt a super cab and your not always hauling loads of gravel, I would think 4 runner. A truck it great, but if you want any enclosed space that you can carry more than 1 passenger, theres your answer

If that T had a 3.4 I would go for it. The 3.0 in the T will be a little slower probably than the runner. Depends really on your needs, but most of us suburbanites have more use for the SUV than the truck...

As far as dependability I think you can count on the T100 like any other Toyota truck. They were not terribly popular in their day, but nonetheless a very well-built truck and it will be just as strong and reliable, if not more so, than the 4runner.

so would it be better to keep my runner, because I really like it, but there's a T100 that's for sale to me, and I'm not sure. I don't toy/haul anything. Right now it's a daily driver, but I do want to wheel it. When the engine goes out on me, then I'm screwed because I prob wont have the money to fix it. So pretty much I would like to know which is the best wheeler overall. Hope this helps.

My dad works with a guy with a t100 that has over 300K and he drives it across country a lot. Never does any work, just regular maint. THey aparently are regular old toyota quality.

Uh, if they both have the same motor...wouldnt they both be equally reliable?

Do they both have the same frame? If it had the v8 then I'd say go for it.

The T100 was never offered with a V8 nor does it have the same frame as the Tundra. The T100 was available with 2 different V6 engines, the 3.0 in the early years and the 3.4 in the later years. The 3.4 was used in '95 and up T100s, so the '93 would have the same 3.0 that is the 4Runners (or possibly a 4 banger).

Is the T100 a 4cylinder? I know in '94 they offered a 4cylinder with a 5spd, but I don't know if they did in '93. I wouldn't get it if it had a 4 banger. Too slow for that size a truck IMHO.

I really like both the 4Runnre and the T100, so its a tough call. I would probably stay with the 4Runner though.

no V8 in the tundra, but the frame is stronger and is built just like a large hilux.

found out the T-100 can tow 4500lbs vs. the 4Runner's 3500lbs, which is sweet. I have a boat that weighs like 3200 trailer and boat weight combined. Same engine too, both 3.0
