1989 4runner SR5 Auto Transmission Question

Ok here is a picture of some sort of smaller cooler? that I am wandering if it is an extra transmission cooler? I know that there is already one in front of the engine radiator, but another one under the passenger side?

Just trace out your tranny cooler lines. I know the auto trans transfer cases have a small cooler of their own under the passenger side floor. Maybe that's it.

Yea I have to agree I am worried about replacing some of the lines for fear they do not have them in stock when or if I break them. Unless I am just stupid and not looking in the right places? Some of the guys here probably have the cool resources to get older tubes and such like that but I don"t . As far as that cooler, I am reluctant to say that it doesn't leak on mine. Does your's have a metal plate under it for protection?

Yeah, it's got a small a small one. I'm not to worries about the lines, any truck parts place could probably make a flexible replacement, I'm more worried about twisting the end off the cooler!!! :-0

Wow I didn't think about that! As long as one of those line wrenches was to be used everything "should" be ok. Those lines are just like the rest on it, aluminum? I know the conventional wrenches are a disaster waiting to happen when used on lines like that. <-- Don't know what the S.O.A.P stands for but it is funny.
Anyways, I'm sure it is gonna come to a point when I have to eventually take off or replace those lines because of the condition. As well as other lines .

Hehe maybe I outta wire in an electric fan from my old PC

I relocated that cooler on mine. If u need lines and fittings for it. I'm sure any shop that deals with hydraulics can make you a line.

its on my build page near the bottom. i moved it because i have a v6 and i installed some headers which made me move it. i placed it just infront of the fuel tank. i swap the two lines to make it route there easier.
