Hi,

I have a 1988 Toyota pick-up. 4 cylinder carburated. When i go to start the truck, I give it 2 pumps and turn the key. The choke is on and it will idle for a bit. When the engine warms up and the choke comes off, it will die unless you blip the throttle. I turned up the idle screw and all that will do is make it rev higher when the choke is on.

I heard it could be a bad anti-dieseling solenoid.

What could be wrong.

vaccuum leaks! Lines/brake booster?

I check for vacuum leaks but i can't find any. I dont think it is the brake booster either. When i give it gas there is a loud hiss from the carb. That might be just more air going into for the gas? Maybe?

okay, one blip to cold start should be all that's needed to squirt some fuel, set the choke cam to close, get the fast idle cam set and have it ready to start.

where does the fuel level set in the float chamber? (there's a sight glass on the side of the carb)
