1 Can of paint plus 30 mins ====??
So I had an extra can of paint today, so I decided to paint my chrome grill black....It was faded and peeling. Now before you ask what I did for prep, I will tell you. "scuffed it up a little bit." The grill is cracked and broken from an accident a long time ago, and both corner lights need to be replaced due to trail damage! So if it starts to peel, Im not worried about it. I am going to buy a non chrome grill for it later and paint it! And hey, you never know, the paint might last!! (even though its metal paint from o'rielys!!)
And yes there are a few runs, but for a 15 minute job, its pretty nice!! Dont you think!??

Lol, I think I used something that said it stops rust... I got it to touch up my sliders and my SAS stuff, and decided...why not!!
I will tell you what though, I didnt think I was going to be able to get the grill off without taking the bumper off, cause the winch was in the way...but with enough bending, It worked!!

Ha, if your talking about the ones in the radiator support....then no, I dont even have one of those left (my corner lights hold the grille in place), but if you are talking about the ones on the back of the actual grill...no I didnt break any of them (does that make me the frickin man??)

Looks 1000X better! I did the same thing on my old '91 cardinal red p/u, but I just did the outside of the grill, not the headlight bezels, or "toyota". Really looks good with your silver paint.

Good job, I painted most of the chrome on my truck. The only things I didn't paint where the door handles. Since they see so much use, the paint would probibly come off.
After 6 months the paint on my grill has chipped a little. Looks like tiny white paint flecks everywhere. My guess, rock/stone chips...

That looks great. I had a peeling chrome grille from the factory. I swapped in a black one and black trimmed corner lights. And there's nothing wrong with some spray-painted body parts. I spray painted my whole hood, a large area over my left rear fender, and a large area around my fuel door.

Damn that looks good! Now in looking at that I wonder why a black grill wasn't an option, or if it was I've never seen one. I think I know what I'll be doing to the front end of the 4runner when I get time.
