hey i tryed to see what size lift was on it but had no luck maybe missed it?

congrats on the new runner looks just like mine but i dont have twin sticks yet

It's been lifted about 6 inches.

Twin sticks are pretty awesome.

So I just installed a driver's seat from a 1995 Pickup, and I have it sitting there with all but one bolt in. What do you all suggest to make this work?

The passenger seat, at first glance, looks wayy more misaligned, but I imagine it's pretty easy to drill and tap a hole in the body where it the seat's bracket would normally go, it looks like the body is already set up to accommodate such a change.

I'll post pics up later.

That thing is cool. You need to ditch the west side and roll on the east side. More rocks and less mud! Theres some cool roads out of sweat home too!

I got in a wreck, those were the only two peices of body that needed replacing.

There's plenty of rocks out here, you just have to know where to look. And yeah, I laugh at all the hicks around here with their jacked up 1 tons that couldn't climb a logging road.

It's taking some getting used to. It doesn't track completely straight (as it might never again), but that could be because of the steering and alingment job. Everything else is in tip top shape except for the missing blinker and the fact that I don't have a passenger seat at the moment.

Yeah, I took it to the Southtown Schwab and had Daryl do the alignment. It's not perfect, truck still tracks to the left a tiny bit. But, oh well, it's still very very driveable. I'm actually heading out to Central Oregon this weekend for a little camping trip with it.

Things to do list:

1.) Mount passenger seat and finish mounting driver's seat.



This is the passenger seat, driver's side front bracket. You can see that the holes of the stock seat don't line up. To remedy this, on the driver's seat, I drilled a hole in the extra metal of the seat just over the hole on the floor, and it worked perfectly. I haven't gotten around to that yet on the passenger seat because of the next picture.



It's easy to see the difference in bracket length. The stock hole in the floor is a good four or more inches towards the front of the vehicle. However, it looks like, on the floorboard, there's a spot where it looks like a mount could be made as it's identical to the one on the driver's side. I can only explain the difference in bracket length as Toyota saw that the only way passenger's enter the vehicle on these 1st gen 4Runners is behind the passenger seat, and to reduce the hassle they made the bracket a lot shorter allowing more foot space on entry.

2.) The rear window isn't working for some reason now. It might be because of the accident, but I"m not sure. The window wiper works just fine, but because the window is stuck in the UP position, it's going to be a PITA to trouble shoot.

3.) Mounting driver's side blinker. I have all the hardware, I just need the plastic clips that the screws go into on the fender.

4.) Cleaning up my hi-lift...it's gross.

Hopefully I'll have all of this done by midweek next week.

Airmen, you're welcome to come over anytime. I'm sure that we could both learn a lot from one-another. I do need to get myself one of those handy books.

OO thats a good list. lol. i agree, i never turn down a chance to help with a project just cause i know i'll be able to learn from it. PM me anytime and we can set up a date and trade contact info. Knechts on 9th has them books for about $15, or you can bargin hunt online, seen them as low as 10 or $12.

Update, I have the seats bolted in, and it was cake.



Drilled out new holes in the body for the 2nd Gen series 4Runner seats and mounted them with bolts and large washers. Also drilled out the front brackets of the seats to accommodate the new width and added a couple of washers as spacers to make up for the slight gap between the seat mount and the bracket.



Put on the new turn signal. All of the signals are working now, but the bloody electrical system is my nemesis. The signals are blinking double-time like there's a bulb out somewhere. And, I'm picky, but they don't line up very well. Granted the alignment is never going to be perfect again, but I'm going to have to probably put in a whole new grill and headlight doors to make it all work out nice.



As far as I knew, there's only one blinker on these 1st Gen 4Runners up front, yet the wiring has two harnesses on it. Where does this other harness go (pictured below)?



Finally, I talked to a shop in Albany called Pro-Line. They do bed liners for trucks but also can apply their product to entire vehicles. They have a Jeep out as an example and it looks sweet. Flat black it would cost me less than a paint matching job at the auto body shop that reconstructed my rig after the wreck.

Hmm...I thought so, I just didn't see a similar harness on the passenger side wiring.

Update: Put in a new lower console for the CD player and cigarette lighter. It looks a LOT better than before and gets rid of the overdrive light from when the truck was still an automatic.
