Looking for truck bed

Does anyone know of an AMERICAN style bed for 84-88 trucks in the north mississippi, west tennessee, or east arkansas area? If further out, where, who and how much to ship? I can be contacted @ automotivsolutions@yahoo.com.

What you're calling a Japanese style bed is from an early 81-83 PU (?? correct me if I'm wrong) The "American" style bed is from a later model... 84 and up, IIRC. So what you're looking for is a 84ish to 90 bed. I think I got my years right... I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.
Later,
C

No, what he is saying is that the American style beds are smoothside, while the Japan/Canada beds have load attachment points running down the outside.

They are hard to find but if you keep an eye out you might find one. I found an almost rust-free one in Minnesota of all places. The guy had taken it off to put on a flat bed and it avoided all the salt, etc. So after about an 800 mile round trip I had my bed lol.

Didn't the Japanese beds have locking gas cap doors and the American ones didn't?

not sure about the US .. but up here . 79-80 beds +(earlier 69-78 2WD ) .. 2 and 4WD had the side latch W/lip beds .
81 up .. all had the center latch tail gate .. and bed "lip" untill 89 .. where they changed the design , and when to the "fleet" side bed .

some bed pics ..

79-83 (custom extended )

84-88 (custom bobbed)

89-95

lines dont match up great , but they are close , for some it's ok .. the newer bed style is also wider , so it will stick out about 1/2" on each side .. and apperently only 6 of the 8 bolts fit .. there is also little farting with the fuel filler ..
