front axle seals

front axle seals
So I wanted to ask how long does it take for say a shop to replace the front axel seals? I'm asking because I haven't had the time lately to crawl under there and do it myself so I was thinking I could have a shop do it for me depending on how much it would cost. Would anyone have an idea on time and price? Also if the shop isn't within my budget and I do do it myself does the entire knuckle "assembly" have to come apart or can it be pulled mostly as a unit?

There's many write ups, tools required, torque specs that a beginner with no skills at all could do it.
No the knuckles don't need to come off, the axle seal is on the spindle.

I would think a shop would charge around 4-6 hours of labor.
FYI, if you do the job by the book, it would be a good idea to put in new wheel bearings as well as all the brakes and all of the seals and gaskets.
However, if you use the "Camo Method" of removing the knuckles, you won't have to reset the wheel bearings or touch the brakes.

I apologize I was meaning the inner axel seals. They are beginning to leak a little. I've been finding grease on the tires and in my driveway . By grease I mean gear oil
