Best shocks for '84 Flatbed
I have a relatively stock '84 with the 22R. It currently has a 1" body lift and 30x9.50x15 MTR's. I'd eventually like to lift it but that is a ways down the road, til then I will be focusing on making it as reliable as possible. I'm looking for a nice set of shocks to replace the worn stockers. I know most folks replace everything with a lift kit so it's been difficult getting feedback on just the shocks, so what does everyone run? OME's?

I've got KYBs on my 84, on springs with over 300,000 miles on them, and it still rides very well.
In fact, driving them back to back, the 84 with 307k and KYBs rides better than my 96 with 144k and KYBs.

Suppose I went the way of the Bilsteins, what length fits? I don't want to bottom them out, but would like to gain some droop as well as be able to use them in the future with a 3-4" spring.

I have shock lengths I used for a 3.5" lift on the page below:

They are about as long a shock that will fit in the stock mounts and not limit compression.
