85 pu 4x4 22r smoke???
I am new to this site my brother is on here quite a bit and has a nicely built 87 pu. I am not new to yotas and im sure this topic is covered a zillion times so i am sorry and bare with me. 85 22r 5 sp runs and drives good. at idle just pours white smoke/steam i know it could be head gasket not loosen coolant or enough to make that kinda steam i dont think? dosent matter if it is warmed up to temp or first start. started to idle a little rough today (probably cause i f%$# with the timing. just bought it about a week ago 227k has been rebuilt i dont know when or how but it has. got a weber carb and the smoke has a little tint of blue in the morning( valve seals?) so i am stuck any help would be good the oil is fine and the coolant is not dirty all hg gone bad i seen have had dirty coolant or water in oil so let me know what you guys think.. and again thank you.

It may be valve seals. If you have to pull it apart to do that you will be doing the head gasket anyway. Either way, I'm sure you will find the problem...

don't know if this helps but here it is cold out now 30f and we went out the other night and did a few old logging trails on my buddys dads land and my truck did not hit high rpms at all for the hour or 2 we where out.
and I noticed steam coming out the whole time and got a little nervous once we left and I got going my muffler got warmer and the condensation steamed up and out.
in my case I think it was just condensation pooling up in my muffler that made the cloud of smoke.
do a compression check first

Yea im lacey washington and it is cold here at night and through the day it might get to 40 or so. this has happed for a couple days and i drive 30 min to work and it will only do it at stop signs red lights or when i let off the gas... not under hard or any acceleration so who knows.. I think its a HG im not driving it on monday my brother and i will look at it do some tests and see.. If it is i will be getting a new head and gasket kit from engnbldr. the bottom end has been rebuilt at some time in the recent past as i just replaced the oil pan gasket and the oil pick up is super clean the brass plugs in the block say made in USA and are spot less so it looks fresh? and the crank looks good so we will see. thanks guys any other sugg i appreaciate it
