ok my first yota, it has issues ..lol im working thru but my mind right now is on a new tach. I have read that to time this engine I would need to jumper a connector in the eng bay? Could that same connector be put to use for tach pulse signal? Was think just putting a spade terminal on the wire and sticking it in the connector no need to cut /piggyback wiring.::
truck is 85 sr5 had many tjhings done to it by po. running 35 tsl boggers and according to po 5.77 gears spicer in front assie in rear. extra long springs front and aft. ifs hub swap in front?? ifs rear axle with disc brakes. fresh rebuild with 270 valves or cam don't rember which way he said. nice looking ceramic coated header and bunch more lol to bad I cant get it to run right..... yet . anywho just wondering about that connector for now.

No, that wont work. Did you read the instructions that came with the tach? Usually they need to be connected to the negative coil wire. What brand tach?

Yea I will go with the coil neg as per instructions was just wondering if I could use the test port. thanks for the reply.
It is a ebay tach digital tach with water temp/oil pressure and volt gauges in it. I need the oil pressure as the factory dash oil is inop and not the sender or the fuse, cant be driving with no oil ind tho. So the dash tach works fine but hey why not 2 tachs lol.
