1984 Pickup Radiator Fitment

1984 Pickup Radiator Fitment
Hey guys, after searching for a couple of days I haven't quite come up with a solid answer so hopefully somebody has some insight on this.
First off for reference I have a 1984 Pickup SR5 Extended Cab 2WD Manual 22RE.
I live in AZ and everyone knows it's hot here, this is the first summer I've had my truck and if I drive with the A/C on the temp gauge starts to creep up a little bit. I flushed the coolant, put some new stuff in (25% Pink Zerex Asian Vehicle, 75% distilled and a bottle of Amsoil Dominator additive) and it helped but the needle will still hover a couple clicks above where it normally sits in cooler weather.
Anyways, the inside of the radiator looks like crap and is covered in minerals and lime scale, and I was going to try to upgrade to the 3 row which brings me to my main question:
Can I just drop in a 3 row radiator from a 1986 22RE Turbo truck with no hassle?
All of the three rows only list compatibility from 1985 on up, but the two rows are listed with compatibility from 1984.
My radiator core dimensions are:
Height 15 3/4
Thickness 1 1/4
Width 20 13/16
I found this one, my concern is first the cost (are there cheaper alternatives?) and second that the height is 2" more, it's thicker and it's 3/16" less wide.

I'm in Tucson and I'm running a three row brass radiator. I "THINK" I got it from BAP import parts a few years ago.
Just had it serviced this spring and the radiator shop said it was a well built radiator.
I was told it was a turbo or V6 rad but I wish I could tell you for sure. It's been a while but, I do remember just asking for a 3 row brass rad that would fit and they had one for me. It bolted right in.
I'm not sure if a V6 one is accurate though. I believe the upper water neck is angled for the 3.0. so maybe it is for a turbo.

My parents run auto zone 3cores and lower thermosats in there 88 and 87 just bolted right in.there's not anything I've noticed that would keep there radiator for going in my 84 cept for maybe the front leafs might block the drain its rainin atm or I'd go look

I got mine from Radiator barn I run 5 of the 3 row all metal radiators
One in the 22rec 2 in the 22RTEC engines the others in the 3.4 engines all the same model.
I don`t think you will have any major problems in getting it to fit.
I know I had to custom make brackets for the Tacoma .
The Turbo ones needed a nipple soldered to the top tank no big deal.

Just thought I'd update this thread with my results.
I bought CSF Part Number 2314 which is a three row radiator. I bought it from my buddy Taylor at Snail Performance, it's not something they normally sell but since they are a CSF distributor, they can get it if you call/email. I tried to get it from numerous other online parts retailers and ebay vendors but all of them ended up saying they were out of stock AFTER they had my money and had to issue refunds...
Compatibility is listed as '86-'95 Toyota Pickup and '84-'95 Toyota 4Runner but it dropped right into my '84 Pickup no problems. The radiator is also thicker towards the front of the truck and they moved the mounts in a little so that the radiator doesn't sit any closer to the engine than the stock one. The only hiccup is that the 12mm bolts for the fan shroud didn't work because the CSF radiator has 10mm nuts built into the mounting bracket. I had some 10mm bolts laying around anyways so no big deal. Temps are rock solid now, the needle won't even move on the highway anymore even with the A/C on full blast and 100+ degree outside.

I put the 3 row from Radiator Barn in my 84 several years ago and it's holding up well. One other thing I did was I cut the shroud in half horizontally, so if need be I can unbolt the top half and remove it, makes it way easier to work on water pump, remove the alternator or anything else on the top half of the engine since trying to remove the whole radiator shroud as one piece is a royal PIA unless you take off the fan.

This happend to me too, Mine yota is a 85 2wd manual. I happend to buy a radiator 84-88 from a toyota pickup Auto Trans 2 row aluminium on ebay but it didnt fit, it was taller than expected so to go fix the problem i got a body lift 3" and guess what it did fit at last, thats the solution i would give to you if you cant fit the radiator...
