transmission losing first gear

My daily driver is a 82 4x4 truck 250k or so. Just recently it started popping out of first gear and it is getting way worse where I have to jam it and hold it in to make it stay. I think it's toast? I bought an entire 86 toyota that is ifs 4x4 and carbureted off a buddy who rolled it for 200 bucks about a year ago it's all complete just thrashed body. Will the tranny bolt up? They look similar from the bottom but I haven't started looking close yet. thanks

cool cool so the W56 out of the 86 I have sounds like a good tranny will it bolt right up. Should I just leave it all together with the t case mine is good in the 82 truck and the one in the 86 seems to work fine but the truck doesn't run since the wire harness got cut so I can't test it good. thanks again

it will bolt to the motor but the trans mission crossmember will need to be reloactesd and you might need to use the driveshafts with it
