I didn't know the celica supra was fuel injected in 81. Did they run a 22re?

Starlets are awesome!!! I found one for sale locally once with a RX7 rotary swapped in it.. Me and a buddy went and took it for a test drive...

It was a total death trap but loads of fun!!

IDK how everyone is getting such crap milage cause I got like 30" tires, stock gears, 2 1/4 dynomax exhaust, k&n air filter, and a lead foot and I can get 18 mpg out of my truck IN TOWN, and get at least 29-30 highway..

The supra was a sports car. Definetly not a 22RE engine lol. The 22RE didn't start until 1983, and then in the celicas only.

In 1979, the Supras used a 110 hp 2.6 L (2563 cc) 12-valve SOHC inline-6 engine (The 4M-E)

In 1981, they upgraded to a 116hp 2.8L (2759cc) 12 valve SOHC inline-6 engine (The 5M-E)

For the record, the 79-81 Supras also came with an optional 8-Track!!

In 1982, they again upgraded to a 145 hp 2.8L 12 valve DOHC inline 6 engine (The 5M-GE)

I could consistently pull 36 MPG at 55MPH on flat ground in my 84 SR5 22re back in the day. I easily believe 32 is possible from a carbed 81.
