Sick. That makes me feel good about mine. I'm calling it a sports truck from now on. I like how they all jump in the air at the end.

they used to do that jump in the end of all the toyota commercials, I think I'd be cool if they started doing it again, as retro is in now

another thing that you have to realise is that before the 2008 model year, highway miles (and city for that matter) per gallon were not measured anywhere near what the "average user" would actually see

this was actually the EPA's fault, not the manufacturers, thier testing conditions were wayyyyy off anything realistic,

I guess that what made them change, or started it anyways, is that the prius had an advertised 50ish mpg, and new owners were only getting like 35-45 on average or something

if you look at just about any new car that didn't go through any changes from the 2007-2008 model years, the '08 will have worse mileage, IAW the EPA's new testing standards, even though that actual mileage you'll get is the same

and the starlet was out in '81 or whatever, maybe Toyota took a little "poetic license"

New car/truck mileage is a joke!

I think new car/truck mileage is a joke. I have a 91 1ton longbed truck I use for work that's carbed and it gets 21 mpg with 2000 lbs in the back (all city driving). I used to own a 84 Honda civic that got almost 50 mpg on the highway and easily 35 in town. I don't know why manufactuers think there special getting 40 -50 out of a Hybrid. Honda and Toyota was doing that 20-30 years ago with a carburator.

I remember those commercials, they were pretty bad, but I guess they worked. I bought my '81 in '82?, and also bought an '81 Corolla wagon a few years later. I don't remember what kind of milage it got, but it was much better than my Land Cruiser with a 350 in it.
