One approach to making a 1st Gen 4x4 double cab
This is the way that they came from the factory:
they had a bed though
I can appreciate the work that went in to this conversion...God knows it is way above my skillset but it is kind of ugly.
(found this while surfing on ih8mud.com)
as long as the owner is happy that is all that matters
i want a first Gen double cab but I would like to have adults be able to sit in a traditional upright position...

To you it might be ugly,I think of it as VERY DIFFERENT, but think of it this way, 1 he has done something different, 2 he spent a lot of time doing it, 3 its still a toyota, but does it have 2 dashes and if so which VIN do you register it with?

it would have been really cool if he used two SFA set ups, with steering, on both ends.
i'd have used two front clips, and built a storage space in one of them. you wouldn't know if it was coming or going, but you'd never have to 'back up' again!

these are awesome! i did not know they made crew cabs of 84-88 style trucks. i really dig that. i'd want to modify a fiberglass top to but over the bed... and turn one into a STRETCH 4RUNNER! awesome.
