1986 Toyota Pickup 22R 5 speed 4WD -$2600- Chicago
Hey guys, I decided to sell my truck. Too many vehicles (2 Grand Nationals, 2 motorcycles, 1 commuter car and 1 Yota) and I need to start thinning out the hobby vehicles. Located in Chicago. I'm thinking $2600. Let me know.
It is a 1986 regular cab short bed. 5 year old Gray paint, blue interior. 5 speed manual.
300k miles on body & frame. 60k mile powertrain from a wrecked truck was swapped over 5 years ago by PO. That includes all engine accessories (alternator, a/c, clutch, etc.).
The bad stuff:
Paint:The paint job was by a friend of my uncle. It is not great. There is paint on the trim/weatherstripping etc. There is also a dent with cracked paint on the top rear edge of the cab about 3" wide. The passenger door needs to be repainted due to a scrape down to the metal about 8" long. The cowl area paint is cracking right in front of the windshield. Some scrapes through the spray on bed liner. Missing the passenger side front bumper plastic corner piece.
Interior: Dash is cracked. Blower does not blow on highest setting (others work). Windshield drips in serious rainstorms. Side window glass is slightly scuffed from crappy weatherstripping rubbing on it.
Mechanical: Oil leak of .5 quart every 4-6 weeks. Power steering leaks somewhere. It has cranked torsion bars (I know) that were like that when I got it but never changed. Also, 2" lift blocks in rear. Missing the wing nut that holds the air cleaner onto the carb. Removed the emissions equipment when I didn't have to pass it anymore. PO at some point started, so it desperately needed to be removed or replaced. Battery has been drained completely twice. It works fine now (and I'm in Chicago) but would need to be changed down the road. A/C seems to need a recharge. 14-18mpg, could be better if I drove more conservatively and slower.
Good stuff:
Mechanical: Everything works. 80k miles total on drivetrain now. I rebuilt the carb when I messed up the original at the sand dunes. Very reliable. Driven to work daily without any abnormal problems. Tires are Cooper Discoverers. Lots of tread left. Brakes, Power Steering, Heat, Radiator, Fan all work fine. Clutch is great. Locking hubs are good. 4WD works fine. Lo Range works great.
Exterior: Black toolbox in bed. Spray on bed liner. No rust on frame or body. Trailer hitch mounted to frame.
Interior: Seat is not ripped.
Let me know what you think or if you are interested. I sold my last truck on here if you need a reference.

Also, I have a clean Illinois title in my name. I will post interior, bed, and pics of the paint scratches ASAP. Let me know if you guys think this is an OK price, even if you're not interested. If sold, I will help arrange transportation if necessary. Thanks!

Link to pics with some frame shots. I just got under there and shot all around. A little surface rust on the springs is all I saw. The frame is solid. The truck came from North Carolina. I bought it from my uncle, and drove it back to Chicago about 2 years ago.
*Also, forgot to mention. The automatic choke works. Starts off at high idle, moves to low idle with temp increase or pedal.

I believe I bought the blue '85 off of you a few years back. Did you ever see that truck when I was done with it? Here's a pic.
