1985 Toyota 4Runner SR5 - Denver CO
This is a great truck and I hate to let it go but my work schedule has changed and I don't have the time to put it to use properly.
I'd like to sell or trade it in order to get something that better fits my needs. (see trade options below)
$6,250
1985 SR5 - 22re (EFI) - 5 Speed Manual Transmission
197K but the guy I bought it from said it was rebuilt at around 150K but did not have receipts.
I have no reason not to believe him as it turns over without a hick-up every time and runs very smooth.
4 brand new (less than 1K) 35 x 12.5 x 15 BFG KM2s. The 5th / Spare is at 60-70% tread remaining it needs a wheel. Warranty through Discount Tires.
Re-geared to 5.29 using Yukon ring / pinion.
Does 75 with ease and still pulls down 20mpg.
ARB Air locking differentials in the front and rear - with engine bay compressor
Rear heater
Solid Front Axle - trussed
Marlin Crawler High Steer with IFS Steering Box
2 inch body lift
Rancho RS9000 adjustable shocks - 8.12in travel
Heavy Duty long springs shackles - 5'' front / 6'' rear.
Warn 8000lb Winch
Custom front tube bumper
Trail Gear Rear Bumper
Custom Rock Sliders
Woven Steel, Extended Brake Lines
Extended Bump Stomps
Tinted Windows
New Battery Installed 06/13
Removed all carpet, cleaned, primed and bed-lined interior (no rust found). Also bedlined select areas of the exterior: Rear fenders around wheels, bottom of the door-wells, lower side body under doors.
New Media / MP3 player and speakers.
I repainted and restored the rear interior peices, and center console / heater. Looks great!
Rear Seats are the originals and are in great shape and I replaced the front seats with another set of 85 4Runner SR5 seats in much better shape.
The interior is great shape. No smells, burns or issues with the electrical system.
All switches and knobs work as they should.
New windshield wipers 05/13.
Rear window works as it should (rolls up and down from both key and center console switch).
Front window was pulled (sanded and repainted where it seals to the body) and then re-installed with modern sealant. No leaks.
Transmission, Transfer, and Differentials Oils Changed. 10/13.
Extras included - Muti-channel Amp, Sub Amp, 12 inch Subwoofer, Rear Fender Flares, Mud Flaps, Spare Front Axle Shaft and Birfs, Spare Drive Shaft.
So, what needs work?
Drivers door had small dent at some point. The previous owner did appear to have pulled the dent but did not fully fix / paint match. The door still opens and closes and the window rolls up and down as expected. Purely cosmetic.
There are a few bits of rust here and there that have been sanded and painted around the doors. Nothing major. I was considering new fiber glass body panels. All painting was done with Rustoleum oil based paint. No spray paint used on the body.
The windshield trim was lost when the window was re-installed. It was purely there for looks and is a bit of pain to deal with on these models. Looks fine without it.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
---Possible trades:
3rd Generation 4Runner - looking for 95-00 with e-locker.
1st Generation Tacoma - Double Cab - looking for 98-00 with e-locker.
Mostly Stock 1st Gen 4Runner - SR5, A/C, power everything. 2RZ or 3RZ swapped would be great. (OEM restore project)
FJ40 Land Cruiser - 1970+ - All Toyota drive train.

Your Runner sounds like just what I am looking to trade for.
I'll upload more pictures upon getting home tonight.
