I've heard of guys using the machine...and the plasma gets alot of love. The only problem with those machines are they are generally imports, and the quality isn't too good. As far as the TIG goes, it's probably scratch start, and it's only DC so aluminum it out. I've never seen any truly good TIG work come from these low budget machines.

It really comes down to...you get what you pay for. Will it work...yeah...will it work good...maybe, but probably not. I'd count more on the plasma, and not so much on the TIG. Even for a plasma that price is good so...your ahead of the game.

Some facts

Searching the web I came across this thread.

Just a couple of facts.

The tig is high frequency start not scratch.

Quality does vary, depending greatly on the factory or origin ( there are literally hundreds of small factories throughout China assembling these machines ). Also much depends on the sellers who do pre-shipment tests and inspections and those who don't.

Your best bet is always to do your homework, research both the product and the seller.

Hope this helps , Larry
