7 foot bed to 6 foot bed.
Okay, first off Idk if this is the right spot or not but I'm on off my phone and its a bit confusing.
Now, I have around a 7 foot bed and I'm going to get a bed tomorrow that is around 6 foot, I'm wondering what kind of troubles I'm going to run into if any when I convert it.
Truck:
1990 Toyota pickup single cab, 4x4.
Thanks in advance and sorry if this is in the wrong spot.

you could make it easy on your self and mount the short box as is leaving a 1 foot gap between the box and cab. Then build a tool box to fill that space.

What does that even mean? The guy is asking for advice, and all you can do is make smart ass remarks? Helpful.
To the poster. If you put a short bed on a long bed body you'll have to cut off some of the frame for it to fit right. Which means your rear bumper mounts will not be in the right spot if they are there at all. Not a big deal just a heads up. Spare tire spot may have complications, too.

As a matter of fact...it's a HUGE deal. Because the only way to make it work is to chop a ~1' section out of both frame rails(IN FRONT of the bed, NOT BEHIND it), then weld them back together again. All kinds of fun. And that still does nothing to fix the rear driveshaft length issue, and/or the gas tank size problem, you'll create in the process. Both being too big/long to use with a shortened wheelbase. Not to mention the brake lines, e-brake cable, etc., etc., etc....

Most important problem about the swap will be relocating the axle (which is ridiculous), not cutting some frame off.

if you cut the frame like mud hippy said you wont have to relocate the axle at all as long as you dont cut behind the front hanger
you could coil up the hard brake lines, to make them shorter, ive had great success with shortening my own drive shaft even though everybody told me i couldn't (hasnt been balanced and its been to 100mph without vibs), i didnt know the gas tank was different i thought they all held 12 gallons like mine but apparently not.
why you hating on 16 year olds i was 16 when i did my own sas without a kit and rebuilt my own motor that ive put 12000 miles on since (problem free i might add)

or if your comfortable with welding sheet metal you do a bed bob which you would only be modifying the bed and the very ends of the frame (not as important to cut straight as when cutting the fame in half, this wont sidetrack if you screw it up by accident) and not the whole truck probably easier but i have never done it they is a couple threads on here detailing it though. but the bed bob would probably be the best option here
