Great pics, the pass is indeed at the notch. I have ridden the loop from Durango many times, it's a 56 mile round trip from town.

The talas slope on the other side of the pass is really cool to ride down. The trail to the left of the pass connects to the Colorado trail which is a much safer way down.

Back in the early 80's we used to do the ride on our old Schwinn one speed cruisers (lots of pushing on the climb)
