Yeah Wentworth up the Postpile to Loon and then a little ways up towards Rubicon Springs, we camped at Airport Flats...I do have the dual cases in, I was just sayin I wouldn't recommend running without gears in the t case. But because of the duals my clutch is fine

So dual 2.28's was not low enough? I run in 4.7:1 most of the time up there it's just about perfect with 5.29's. Compound low is too low for most stuff but it is sure handy in a really tight spot or when your really tippy.

Yeah it was low enough, I was just saying after having run part of the trail, I wouldn't recommend going on it without gearing the t case or having dual 2.28's, I was very happy with how they worked. I could've used the 4.7's in the rear only a handfull of times.

Oh okay.. I got ya! I agree! I think having low gears is the MOST important thing up there because of how rough it is. I've seen guys with stock Tcases do it in an auto. In a manual you just end up frying your clutch and bouncing all over the place. Not only is bouncing unpleasant but it leads to roll overs and broken drivetrain parts. With my wife especially its so nice to just let it idle over everything in 4.7:1 only having to blip the throttle here and there. Makes for a much more pleasant ride. People forget that the Con is over 20 miles end to end of no kidding low low crawling. When I go it takes roughly 20 hours of drive time to get through because I like to enjoy myself and not break stuff. Slipping your clutch over a couple rocks while out playing is one thing but doing it for 8 hours a day for 3 days is just not feasible IMO.

Exactly, and after going on the trail a ways, I think I could make it through all the way, but it wouldn't be nearly as enjoyable going through as if I were a little higher and had a front locker...it's just too long of a trail to enjoy taking an underbuilt rig through.
