Hi Chef! I'm a chef as well, specializing in Greek and Italian cuisine. I noticed you have an 87 sr5 4runner, and you have experience with brake systems. I have an 86 sr5 22re with the same paint job as your 4runner! I've recently replaced my brake booster and master cylinder, and I seem to be having trouble bleeding the system. I've bled the cylinder, each tire in order, and the lspv. But i still have air in the system and an extremely spongy pedal. I have read some conflicting forums regarding bleed order, so I've tried numerous times. But still no luck. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time!

    Hi there,
I see you are a busy guy, but I was wondering if you might be able to help me with a couple of issues on my 85 pickup? I would gladly pay you of course. Truck is a rock crawler, built right in a shop. Pretty stock 22re. Yotamasters just had it for a few weeks and said they had fixed the issues, but it still has a rough idle and gets up to 220 degrees on the mechanical temp gauge pretty regularly. For the rough idle we have already done plugs, wires cap rotor new egr new fuel filter, put smoke through the vacuum system for leaks, and fixed them. For the running hot issue, we have done a new Marlin recommended water pump, 3 row radiator, new fan clutch, new thermostat. I am totally out of ideas on how to get it idling smoothly, and how to keep the engine a bit cooler. Any help would be so appreciated.
    Thank you,

Hey I work up the palos verdes area and have seen your trucks in the driveway. I stumbled upon one of your youtube videos and heard the peacock in the background so I knew it was you. I see you are a pretty experienced mechanic with these trucks. I have a question. I need to change the rear output seal on my 84 t-case. Is it possible to jack the rear end up enough to be able to swap out the seal without having to drain the gear oil? My name is Mason i'm a firefighter.

Everyone in the SoCal area seems to say "ask chef!" when I ask about anything Toyota truck related... So I signed up for yotatech and here I am... I'm rebuilding a 87 22re trash truck of a 4 runner and just need some shop recommendations if you don't mind. I'm in the east Hollywood part of town. Machining a head? Buying a new one? Just a good 22re mechanic to help put the hoses back and run down an electrical short? I don't think I'm getting fuel in the cylinders but the pump is still good..... Thank you for your dedication to the most fun truck.

Hey there, I was wondering if you still have the Toyota labeled Key Cylinder and License Plate Light Housing for a 1st gen 4Runner you listed on here a while back? If so, I would like to purchase it from you. I live in Portland, OR and will be able to give you extra for shipping. Please let me know if you still have it, I know it has been a long time since you posted, but thought i would ask anyway. Have a great day, blessings!

    Hi Chef,

Just acquired a '86 Turbo and it's got some starting and idle issues. Was wondering if you had time to run through some checks with me, seeing as you are in the SoCal area, I wanted to see if we could chat over the phone while I was starring down this engine with it's at least 3 disconnected vacuum lines and electrical nightmare and just guide me as to what the heck could be going on.

    Thank you,
    Serge

Hey quick question Mark, do you know if the axles, fenders, hood, and transfer case from an 85 pick up fits a 85 4runner, I think they do but just want to make sure, thanks in advance!
