As of 3-09 with all mods complete. the 4.3 has tons of low end and o.k@ higher rpm's. with aussie locker in rear, custom torque bar, and shift kit I can powerbrake 34" swampers all day, it chirps shifting 1st to 2nd, and still gets around 15 mpg!

I used 30.00/gal tractor paint mixed with a quality hardner/thinner. the main reason I painted the truck was simply to make it one color and keep the cops off me. this was the first vehicle I painted and am very happy with how it looks compared to how cheap the paint was!

Hub assembled, I still was not able to use the snap as planned but used the step washer I had from the SW hubs with bolt and lock-tite in axle. Doing this I could tighten the bolt all the way down without taking bearing play out. Test drove with all problems gone! Yes!

MM gears w/ .100" removed @ machine shop for $35. The machinist was worried about the gear because it was hardened but said once he started cutting it was pretty soft. Hmmmmmmmm......

MM hub on axle shaft before machining. I decided to have a machine shop shave the gear down so at least the snap ring groove was accessable, roughly the thickness of the snap ring.

This is how SW gear fits on axle shaft, note the groove where the screwdriver is for the axle snap ring.

Axle refresh complete w/ new MM hubs. By the time I finished the axle rebuild I had stashed enough $ to have my driveline rebuilt w/spicer long travel slip yoke and new joints. On my first test drive I had a severe vibration and could hear a grinding noise when hubs were locked or I was in 4wd. After I got home I found that the noise was from the birf's rubbing on the outer knuckle. I had noticed that the MM inner hub gear was wider than the SW and beacause of this you couldn't use the axle clip retainer to keep the axles from moving in and out. MM instructions say to use they're cheasy grade 5 fender washer with lock-tite, but if you tightened the bolt down on the axle shaft it would take out you're wheel bearing preload and the wheel wouldn't turn. So I called MM, talked to 3 different people, gave them my info and never got an answer or a call back about my dillema(nice customer service!). After taking several measurements I deciced to have the MM inner gear machined down to the same thickness as the SW gear.

New stuff! New birf's, third member bearings, and mile marker hubs. I went with MM hubs because they were $90/pair where Warn were $199/pair and I had read MM were just as good as Warn.

Superwinch hubs that came on vehicle when purchased, all the front axle seals were puked out so I decided to do a complete front axle rebuild/refresh. I had only had the truck in 4wd a couple times because front driveline was shot, but when I did I could hear a clicking sound coming from the front.

I also found this screw fell out on the ground because it wasn't long enough for the washer that was used and pulled the first 3 threads off. Guess I'll need to get some new hubs for the rebuild also.

my main goal was to have a finished swap that when you opened the hood it would look factory. It cost a little more money to do this but it was worth it to me

there's a 10" electric pusher and trans cooler mounted between rad. and grill. to do this I had to space rad. towards engine approx. 1/2". the fan is on a toggle switch I powered through a 30amp fuse and circuit breaker.

I used a 15" flex fan w/spacer kit. I would rather have used an electric puller but lacked the 4 1/4" needed to clear it because I wanted the transfer case to stay in the stock location.
