I clocked the 2.25" side of the adapter to one side when tacking it to the flex joint to provide an angle that pointed away from the frame and fuel lines

Driver side. You can see where I cut the manifold here to be able to clock it away from the frame. Trimming of the heat shield by the O2 sensor required.

This shows the excellent clearance of the 2UZ manifolds. the 1UZ's were heavily pressing on the steering shaft without the engine even seated all the way.
