Before I modified the pan I had lowered front diff 1.5" to clear. The old Rancho kit lowered it 3" and the Drop Bracket kit about 4" so oil pan modification wasn't necessary with those kits. But I wanted to use the stock crossmember and keep the diff tucked up for ground clearance. Here the diff. can be scene in its stock position.
