I need a Vacuum reading on the vacuum hose at the break booster. i am trying to detemine if i have a break booster that has gone out or if i have a vacuum leak somewhere.

There's no reading that I know of. I just suck on the hose leading to the booster; it should hold perfect vacuum. If it doesn't, check the vacuum hose. If it isn't the hose, the booster has crapped out.

 

ok well when i pull the hose off it goes PSSSST. so i think its holding a vacuum. i am just trying to elimanate everything else before dropping the $$$ on a new brake booster. the cheapest i could find was a reman NAPA for 81. next was autozone at 108.
