Another reason to upgrade your injectors if you are SC'd...
#1
This is pretty interesting. I went from stock injectors (238cc) to Supra injectors (308cc) a few weeks ago. All else remained the same except a few things:
1. Reversed the free FMU mod.
2. Tuned the global fuel trim with my friend's scan tool and software (-2).
3. Opened my deckplate.
My fuel mileage went up from mid 15's to mid 17's on the two last tanks. It is so significant in fact, that I could see the difference in the cruising range before I ever calculated the mpg. And I should note that these two tanks were not "nicely" driven miles; much of it was testing at WOT, hauling people around with the AC on, etc.
Isn't that interesting? You'd think that fuel mileage would go down with larger injectors huh?
I am attributing this mainly to reversing the free FMU mod, and partially to tuning the engine with a scan tool (finally).
So, upgrade those injectors! Not only do you finally flow the proper amount of fuel, you also may gain a couple mpg! Cool huh?

96 Runner, Where did you get those injectors at? Whats the part number? And how much did they cost total, if you dont mind me asking?
You are not using the URD fuel pump?
And fianlly. Can you change the injectors with the S/C on?

Yes, I am running the Walbro 190 fuel pump from URD.
No, you need to pull the SC'r to do injectors. With air tools I had the entire job done in two hours (not that air tools help on that much in this case, but they did speed a couple steps up). It was a very easy job IMO.
Let me know if you have any other questions.

Steve, I think he bought Mark's (Midiwall) old injectors.
This thread should help you with which ones to be getting:

.....and no, unfortunately, you will need to remove the S/C to install them.
*Edit* Christian beat me to the draw!
