My first 85 Pickup

Just went and bought a 85 pickup last night. I won't be taking delivery of it till Monday or Tuesday. I can't wait to get it home and start working on it. There are a few things that need to be worked on but overall its just regular maintenance things. Eventually, I will have the truck repainted to remove all the surface rust that is starting to form around the truck in certain areas. My gf is going to be taking the 4R as her DD and I will be using this truck as my DD. Just wondering if you guys have any other recommendations of things that I should do to the truck as soon as I get it. I mean more along the lines of maintenance. The mods are going to have to wait for a bit.

Thanks
Steve

Change all of the fluids, spark plugs, belts and lube all of the zerk fittings on the drive lines. Flush the rad and change the coolant back to factory red. Then look into things like alignment and wheel balancing.
I would love to find an original 4Runner like that for my wife to DD.

Gf, is actually going to start wheeling the 4R!! That was one of the reasons why I bought the truck. She's been going w/ me a few times now on a few trips and the last trip she said she wanted to start wheeling. So I figured I needed a DD anyways so the 4R is hers and truck is mine. Next trip out my sister and gf will be in her truck and I will be in my truck w/ my sister's bf. Im excited to have my gf involved w/ us wheeling and going out camping.

So sorry, the parts will not be for sale any time soon.

Thanks for info! I will be changing all the fluids next weekend. The plugs, wires, and belts have been changed already. I will have to do the lubing still. As for the coolant I will have to check and see whats in it now.

Thanks again.
