Replacing the center support bearing.

Has anyone done this? Mine was trashed so I got a new one and pulled everything apart tonight. The rubber part was torn up and came right off, but the metal piece is stuck on the shaft. Do I need a special tool to remove it or should it come right off? This is on a 1993 4x4 3.0 Pickup.

Yeah, I checked there before I posted. It doesn't mention anything about a tool for this particular part. I got the impression from reading there that it would just slip off, but it's stuck tight.

It's where the long & short drive shaft meet on the extended cab pickups.

OK, for what's it worth, It doesn't need a special tool, just needed to be hit a little harder. Thanks for the replies.

Do a search for Center Support Bearing Removal. Or look for the post
from my buddy thestoic22. This is the best way to do it.
