So I just scored some tires and wheels off Craigslist:

4 285/75/16 Nitto Terra Grapplers
4 MB Motoring Rockler wheels
for $250

anyway the only problem is that one wheel has a different backspacing then the rest. 3 have 4.25 and 1 has 5.25....

If I run the 5.25 in the rear will it be a big deal???? I hopefully plan to purchase one with 4.25 BS so they all match, but untill then, what's the harm?????

reagardless of if it would be run kinda different you just scored rims and tires for 250. pretty sick deal dude! but i would look into getting another rim with the same back spacing as the rest as soon as possible. maybe befor even putting them on but thats just what i would do

forget about them, cut your loses and sell them to me... for 200, problem solved!


get that other rim before you put them on your truck, not only will it look odd, but i cant imagine it being good, i might be wrong, but still... i wouldnt do it to my truck

 

I believe the front track of a stock 4Runner is wider in the front than the rear (if you trust this: http://www.internetautoguide.com/car...ner/index.html)

So no biggie if front and rear tracks are not identical. When following a late '70s early '80s Blazer the front wheels can easily be seen protruding out beyond the rears. Many factory 4x4s have a wider track up front so perhaps that is where you should place the larger offset wheels. You can always switch'em around to see if you notice any difference in handling or tracking. The wider offset wheels might tend to promote oversteer or understeer a bit depending which end they are on but since you aren't driving a sports car thats not really an issue.
