FJ rims on 3rd Gen Runner?

Saw a set of 17' Alu. rims on e-bay & wondering if they'll mount on my 97? Same 6x5.5, just not sure if the BS will work? Know most 3Gens are 4-4.5, but think the FJ's are 4 7/8s or so.... Want to run 305-315x17; installing along with the TRD lift (Steve's Tundra spring package)

Thoughts?

Don't get them. If you wheel at all then stick with 16's.

Havent't wheeled in years; mostly cuz i've been stationed oversea (USAF) sooo long though i did have a bad-ass 74 Bronco some years back. Now back stateside, well me and the kids need to get out under the veil of Scouting trips.....wife won't mind then

Anyway; I've looked at the 16' Landcruiser/Lexus 450 wheels and do like them but was considering going 17' to clear the brakes (Tundra brake mod listed in another thread) since my brakes are shot....I'm on the front end of this 4runner project and have much catching up to do!

Is running 17's really that determental to wheeling? Just want to make the right choice the first time around. BTW; I've stayed up many a night reading these threads and can't say enough about the insight and cunning of some of YotaTech's members....

Thanks again!:bigclap:

When you run larger wheels and not larger tires, the sidewall is smaller and can be punctured easier.
