roof mounted light bar and daylighter q's

ok i have a 1st gen 4 runner. I am wanting to put 4 daylighters up on my cab but am not satisfied with any way i have thoguht of to mount them. I am considering bendign up my own lightbar but really have no clue how i would attach it to the roof. I am hesitant to put any holes into my roof. unless i know it will work and not have problems. ANyone have any ides for a good 1st gen lightbar? and how i can mount it up there. My fab skills are good and i cna bend wweld cut whatever but its the ides department i am lacking.

Next i have questiosn about the actual daylighters to mount there. I was considering kc daylighters that are 100wat quartz halogen bulbs but came across these summit racing brand daylighters

http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

as for the specs they all seem to be the exactly the same and i might even be able to replace bulbs with with kc ones if they ever die. As for parts, them come with a dual lighted rocker switch and wiring harness but no relays. I am liking these lights because they seem decent i have a 20 dallor cupons and they woudl cost half as much as kc's. Anyone got some opinions? Also do i need to run a realy for each light? and what relays should i use if i was to get these?

go with a gutter mount as in where it mounts to the gutters above the door, you will have to drill and put in either rivets or self tapping screws , since its just holding lights. i personally dont like those daylighters, im gonna get the hella driving lights and put those on my rack, when i get it.

if your insistant upon fabing your own light bar then the drip rail attachment would be a good solution. I had a steel horse light bar on my 86 yota pickup and it worked and looked great (about $80 I believe) it attached to the drip rail, you could also look that up and get some ideas as to how they attached theres. As for the lights I am no guru but I think you would only need 1 relay for the set of four lights, someone correct me if I am wrong. You can get a relay just about anywhere.

Thumbs up KC makes one, found on www.Froogle.com

Here's a bomb-a** lightbar that I plan on putting on my 94 p/u. I didn't want to put in a rollbar because I come from a contruction trade background and anything that would take away from the space in my bed is out of the question. I have the KC gutter mount bar (I found it in my friends garage this summer) with 6 lights. couldnt find the clips for the gutter so i fabricated some from a set of yakima gutter clips from a roof rack, worked perfectly. next is finding a flush mount female to female plug of some sort to put in the fiberglass topper so i can easily unplug and remove the bar or the top, I run a black can-back top in the summer.

Im looking for something more industrial thats flush and has a cap to cover it when i remove the light bar. There are some applications on this site http://www.deutschipd.com/Products/products.htm that seem to be heading the direction I want.
