10w-40 oil quites my 22RE

I just changed the oil in my truck a week ago.

I usually fill with 10w-30. This time I added 10w-40.

This did reduce the noise from my engine...it does seem to take a little power out of the engine as well. I would guess do to the thicker oil.

I want to make sure this won't hurt my engine though.

Anyone have any insight?

Thanks

Joel

I am sure you would not notice any difference in power between the two oils. I am running 20W50 in mine with no problems. Owners manual gives you a chart as to what temperature to run what oil. It has been a hot summer and a loud 22re so I went with the 20w50.

I don't have an owners manual. They never seem to come with the vehicle.
