1st gen rear shock mounts







I put the crossmember as close to the floor as i possibly could without it touching and i mounted the shocks pretty darn close to vertical.

before, i had the shocks mounted like so:


the shocks didnt do nearly as good of a job dampening up and down and they didnt do anything to control body roll.

now its ten times better

FYI the reason the OEM shocks are staggered ont he Gen1 4Runner (and trucks of that era) is that a staggered shock controls axle tramp.

Stiffer spring rates impacts that as well as spring UNDER....
