Solenoid part #'s needed

Hey everyone, I'm sure this has been posted somewhere here before, but I'm kinda tired of searching through pages and pages of search results. I need the part numbers for solenoids #1 and #2 in the A340h. I'm getting codes 61 and 63 if I remember correctly. My tranny doesn't shift into 2nd or 4th in 'D'rive. I've been putting it in '2', which shifts from 1st to 2nd, then shifting to 'D' to get to third, 4th usually never works. What's weird is sometimes it actually shifts for reasons unknown. I'll put it into 'D' and it'll shift all good, 1st to 2nd to 3rd to 4th. That's very rare though, makes me wonder what causes it to work out of the blue.

I ordered some solenoids from a friend who works at a Toyota collision center and they ended up being the wrong ones. If anyone has the part #'s for solenoids 1 and 2 (codes 61 and 63), I would really appreciate it. Also, if anyone has some diagrams of the tranny fluid pan, where the solenoids are located, I could really use those because I'm not entirely sure which ones 1 and 2 are, but I'm pretty sure it's the two located closest to the engine. I wasted $200 on those last two and I do NOT want to waste anymore, lol.

My Truck:
1991 Toyota Pickup SR5 XCab
3VZE
A340h

Any and all help is GREATLY appreciated. ;D

A340h solenoid kit

I changed the solenoids in my A340h tranny November '05 and it took me three hours. I ordered the solenoids from Axiom Automotive Technologies, Inc. 1360 Ingleside Road Norfolk, VA. 23502 (800)-622-6997. The solenoid kit ( 97420K) has all 4 solenoids and cost me $179.77 plus tax. I figured I'd change all four since I was in their and did not want to do it again for another 20 years- the solenoids I replaced were original. Hope this helps.

bob: hey thanks for the reply. where can i find this database? i've looked everywhere and can't seem to find it...?

aaron: wow only $179 for all four? NICE! the stealership wants that much for just one, and i need two. axiom has a branch here in colorado, hopefully they can help me out, and for the same price. bro that really helps. i need to get in contact with axiom and see what they can do for me. how did you know which solenoid went where? just where ever they fit? like i said, i could use a diagram of their placement because i'm not sure which solenoid is which.

Solenoid Placement

Trinok,
I had no idea where the solenoids went either, but Axiom sends a diagram with their solenoids. Also, I matched the old solenoids with the new ones to determine where they went. I don't have a diagram to send to you though. sorry about that.

If I can change the solenoids ANYBODY, and I mean ANYBODY, can do it.

Post up how you make out.

Aaron,
Thanks a lot for the tip on Axiom bro. I ordered the kit from them and luckily, they were only about 10 blocks away from me! Hahaha! NICE! I payed $180 and got all 3 solenoids, not 4, and it worked beautifully! Woohoo! Finally my truck shifts to all gears nicely, it's great! But again, thanks bro for the tip there. I hadn't fixed it yet because the damn dealership and their $200/piece price tag wasn't doable lately, but $180 for the kit is something I can handle. Putting that pan back on was a pain in the ASS though, I seriously was about to go on a rampage in my neighborhood I was gettin' so mad lol.

Thx a million bro!!!

solenoid

Well, Ive been debating the cost but I thingk Im going to do it as well. My 4runner shifts all over the place. Not sure of what it wants to do. I live in New Jersey but there is a Axiom in Edison. Though I haven't been able to check around on prices, It sounds reasonable. $207 for the Kit. w/three solenoids included. Maybey even I can fix my transmission. I will update once It gets warm enough around here to do....anything. thanx for the info.
