How the FJ should look...

I saw this FJ at the movies last night...

The BFG A/T's were awesome... but the thing I liked most was the black top. I think it just looked a thousand times better than the white. That's just me.

Sorry for the poor quality... camera phone.

I like the BFGs but I have really like my white top now. Beside homage to the FJs of the past it and window tint has made the last few 100 degrees days much better. The black does look much better that the Uni colors I have seen though.

i totally agree. the darker top is a big improvement. is that something available as an option, or do you think the owner had it painted?

I wasn't aware that it's an option. I figured he had it painted.

He painted it. We have painted a couple here for customers. I like the Black on Black we did but the White top is a FJ trademark.

Back then, I could understand the need for a white top. AC was non-existant or not efficient. White tops meant cooler in cab temps.

Now, there's no need. AC is very efficient. The only reason they do it is to pay homage. I can respect that, but I think they'd have been better off with a black top.

I think they would be better off if they could make one with the correct glass to sheet metal to plastic ratio.

Nice tu-tone. I prefer that glossy 202 black over the current metallic too. Looks lifted, no?

I think the white looks best since the old ones had it.
Some of them had it, not all of the old ones did.

But white is how I like it.

I like black the most, but don't mind the white. I think they should have made the black top (or color matched) an option.

My "skidplate" is always removed before any off road action but it looks good on the street.

Hey,my "rice" cost too much to whack it on something and it wouldn't last one trip.

It's the equivelant to a paper condom.
